We'd like to extend a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who came out to meet the new principal of our McKenzie Towne School and to get involved in the Parent Association. Parent involvement plays such a large role in the success of the school and its students!
We would especially like to thank Annette Sarginson for taking the time to meet with parents and answer their many questions. It is a challenge to move and set up a home, one can’t even begin to imagine what it is going to take to move and set up a school. However, from our conversations with Mrs. Sarginson, we know the right person has accepted this challenge!
Questions asked at the meeting will be posted shortly in the Q&A section of the blog. If you have additional questions, please click on the “Let us know what you Think” link to the left and submit your question. They will then be forwarded onto Mrs. Sarginson for her response.
Interim elections for the Parent Association were held and the executive was established. We will be working together over the next few months to further the groundwork that has already been started so that when the new school year begins, we too, will be off and running.
Official term elections will be held at the AGM in September (date TBA). The Association bylaws will also be reviewed and officially voted on at that time.

* Playground and fundraising committees have also been established. The directors will meet with these committees separately from the main executive. Once again, thank you to everyone who volunteered to be a part of these committees. Your director will be in touch with you via email to arrange meeting dates. We would like to get at least one meeting in before the end of the current school year.
Email addresses that were collected at the meeting Monday evening will only be used for the purposes of the Parent Association; primarily to relay information to parents. If you did not submit your email, or would like to be included on the list, please add it to the mailing list on the left or via the comment link.
Our next MTSPA meeting will be held Monday, June 22, 2009 at the McKenzie Towne Fire Hall at 6:30 pm. Everyone is welcome to come and be a part of our children’s future.
