January 28, 2013 Meeting Recap

McKenzie Towne School Council and Parent Association has many positions opening up this year. Now is the time to come in and talk to the people leaving their positions to find out what they do.  Some positions - like Treasurer need to be orientated before they can fully take on the position.  Some of the positions projected for openings are Treasurer, President, Fundraising Director and possible others.  The Council Members sign up for 2 year terms.  Having been on the council now for almost 2 years I can speak honestly when I say it is the best way to find out what is happening in the school and we really do help guide where the school goes. Our School Leadership Team listens and this truly is a partnership. 

Thank you to Ms. Edey, Ms. Young and Mrs. Hull for discussing their classroom projects with us.  The Leadership Team provided and update on Trickster Theatre - we loved it!  They also discussed projected enrollment for our school.

The Parent Association discussed options for Fun Lunch next year.  The Fundraising Director updated us on fundraising initiatives from the past and for the rest of the year.  If any of you have Auction items to be donated for the Valentine's Dance please contact us so we can include you. Our next meeting will be held February 25, 2013 from 6:30-8:30
